Admission
.

The Admission Process is designed to determine the applicant’s appropriateness for placement at Cambridge School. Only when the right match exists between the mission of the school and the needs of the student can Cambridge best serve the child. Cambridge School is not able to offer placement to those students with primary emotional and/or behavioral issues.

The Admission Process:
.
1. Individuals who contact Cambridge School for information will speak with a member of the Admission team who will answer their questions and discuss their child’s possible eligibility. An information packet will be sent to interested families.
. .
2.

An appointment will be arranged through our Admission Office for parent(s) to observe our classrooms and tour Cambridge.  Parents are also encouraged to attend an Admission Open House.  Open House dates are listed on our web site and can also be obtained by calling or emailing our Admission Office.

. .
3.

A completed Admission Application, supporting documents and a $325 non-refundable application fee is then submitted to Cambridge School Admission Office.
Supporting Documents may include all administered  Educational and Psychological Testing Reports, Individual Educational Plans (IEP), Speech and Language Assessments and school records

. .
4.

Upon receipt of all materials, the Director of Admission will review the documents and a Baseline Placement Testing date will be set up for the applicant.  This includes an interview with the child, a screening to assess his/her levels and learning style and a tour of the school.  After the Baseline Placement Testing is complete, the Director of Admission or member of the admission committee will meet and discuss the testing results with the parents. This is all included in the application fee.

. .
5.

The Admission Committee meets weekly to review the applicants. An offer for
placement will be extended to appropriate candidates by phone and in the form of an acceptance letter.

Please note:  We try our best to let families know during their initial contact with the school if we feel Cambridge is not the right educational environment for their child, however; sometimes this is not apparent until later in the process.  In these instances, families will be notified as soon as possible
